Hello everyone and welcome to the BBC page. We had our February meeting on 2/15/17 and, as always, very glad to see so many students excited about books. We love the energy of these kids! Our next meeting will be March 15th. We’ll see you there!
As our new tradition goes, we want to encourage every child to participate by reading his/her book and fill out a quick and easy form. It not only provides us great feedback on what they enjoyed about that book (which will help facilitate the Discussion Groups) and how the book selections are.
We are seeking a new Co-Chair who will work with Heather Plumb during the next school year. The work effort is not great and does not require you to be on campus except for the day of the meetings. Please let us know if you're interested, and we can start showing you the ropes.
The Breakfast Book Club is a wonderful way to promote reading and create readers! It also helps them hone in on their discussion and presentation skills!
Volunteers are an essential part of this program. We have a lot of wonderful parents who have already signed up but we do need more (especially Discussion Leaders)! Please go to the Breakfast Book Club Sign-up Genius Page and see how you can help. We appreciate everyone’s efforts!
Important note: Please be sure to complete the new volunteer registration process via Be A Mentor site prior to volunteering! You can find the link to get started on the Country Club home page.
Breakfast Book Club meets once a month (usually the 3rd Wednesday of the month) starting in September. Breakfast will be served to enrolled students at 7:45 a.m. Discussion Groups will start at 8:00 a.m. (break out by Grade Levels and # of volunteers).
We look forward to a year of good reading!
